3/9/08: Barkley Square Bakery - Alexandria, VA

Great news for our customers in the Washington, DC area! Our treats can now be purchased at Barkley Square Bakery in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia! Old Town is an incredibly "dog friendly" neighborhood - with dogs out walking the sidewalks, checking out the shops, and even under tables at some of the outdoor cafes. It's only natural then, that Old Town has one of the greatest doggie bakeries and boutiques around - and by that we are of course referring to Barkley Square! Kristina & Grayson, owners of Barkley Square, share our commitment to charitable works and giving back to the animal community, and we are very excited about this joint business opportunity. So next time you're in Old Town, be sure to stop by Barkley Square and check out our HomeMade Gourmet Baked Treats in their display case (and take a few home to Fido!)
3/5/08: We're on MySpace
Hey evfurbody! Just wanted to let you know that Love of Dog Bakery is on MySpace now. We're new to the MySpace community, so we'd love any suggestions of what we should do to make our page more exciting. Friend us if you have a MySpace account. Share the Love of Dog!
3/3/08: Special Order Easter Baskets
Does the Easter Bunny come to your house? Every year I try to catch him - surely I can catch any Bunny that comes to my house. I'm a really good Bunny chaser, you know? But for some reason, the Easter Bunny seems to elude me every year. Well, Love of Dog Bakery is offering to help out with this Easter Bunny problem by putting together Custom Easter Baskets. Easter Baskets will be shipped on or before Monday March 17th, with payment in full required prior to shipping. E-mail the Julie-people to order yours today. Everydoggie, let's work together to keep that sneaky Bunny out of our homes and still get some Easter Treats!
1/30/08: Cinnfully Applicious!
The verdict is in: our new Apple Cinnamon Cookies are Cinnfully Applicious! Got a sweet tooth? Well this is the treat for you, my friends! All the tasty goodness of all-natural applesauce with just a hint of cinnamon ... mmmmmmmmmmmWoof! And the Julie-people says that this is our lowest fat treat yet because it's made without any oil. I'm not sure what that means, but I do know without a doubt that these Apple Cinnamon Cookies are Pawsitively Dogtastic. Don't believe me? Try them for yourself! I'm predicting that these new treats will become our best seller. They're that good.
Two Paws Up!
1/23/08: Smells like ... Apples???
The Julie-people is baking tonight and I'm pretty sure she's baking bones. But there's something different about this batch of bones ... I can't quite put my nose on it. Could it be? Yes it is! It smells like baking apples! Mmmmmm. This could only mean one thing, pups, we're going to have a new addition to our menu soon. But first, I've got some serious taste-testing to do. Apple goodness coming your way soon (but coming my way even sooner!) Sweet.
1/17/08: A new friend in London, UK
I just may have found myself a new boyfriend. A very handsome doggie by the name of Bramble e-mailed me today. And not only did he e-mail me, but he sent me a whole collage of pictures of himself, to show me just how very handsome he is. In fact, he looks a lot like me - we'd make beautiful puppies (if only I wasn't "fixed"). But alas, Bramble was writing to me from far away in London. My people says this is across the "big pond" - I say I could swim across any pond (I'm a very good swimmer, you know), but my people insists that this "big pond" is much bigger than any pond I've ever seen. Oh well. Perhaps a long distance love-affair?
1/7/08: Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to evfurbody! We were so so busy in December baking (and tasting!) bones for the holidays that I hardly had time to nap! I was exhausted, but don't worry, I had a few days "off" between Christmas and New Years to catch up on some much needed sleep. But vacation's over and it's back to work for me. I love my job!

11/23/07: Peanut Butter
Oh yes indeed, the Julie-people is a baking machine today. Peanut Butter Paws, Peanut Butter Bones, peanut butter, peanut butter, and more Peanut Butter! I do love me some peanut butter, my friends. And you know what the best part is? When she finished the jar of all-natural peanut butter she let me lick out whatever was left inside. Oh yes, please! Peanut butter, and therefore Peanut Butter Paws, Peanut Butter Carob Chip Cookies, and Peanut Butter Bones are my most favoritest.

10/25/07: Pumpkin Bones!
It's been a busy week in the Love of Dog Bakery kitchen. My Julie-people has been trying out a new recipe for Pumpkin Bones. I've tasted several of them along the various product development stages and I think we've finally gotten it just right! Pumpkin is so yummy, folks! And the people says they smell good enough to eat (the people are silly, of course they are good enough to eat, what are they talking about?!) Anyway, our new Pumpkin Bones will be available for sale through our website soon. They come in a 2.25" bone shape, perfect for doggies of all sizes, $0.55 each or 10 for $5.00. In the meantime, all orders placed between now and November 1st will receive 2 FREE Pumpkin Bones. If you'd like to order some before they become officially availalbe on the website, please e-mail the Julie-people and she'll create a manual invoice for you.
Pumpkin Bones - Deeeelish!
10/16/07: "Mutts" Blog Features Love of Dog Bakery
I'm FAMOUS!! Love of Dog Bakery was featured in John Woestendiek (of the Baltimore Sun)'s blog, Mutts, today! There's even a giant picture of me, the Hayle-dog, on there! I'm so excited I could chase my tail! Famous, I tell ya. Little ole me, famous. Wait till I tell evfurbody at the dog park - they'll never believe me. I think I've earned myself a Vanilla Dipped Peanut Butter Bone for all my hard work - with sprinkles on top! This Master Taste Tester gig I've got here sure has it's perks! Life is good.

10/9/07: Orders & E-mail
First of all, I'd like to send a mastiff-sized THANK YOU to everydoggie (and their people) who have placed orders since the official launch of our website last weekend. It's been so Dog-gone exciting around here to see all those dog bone orders going out!! Although, it does make me a little sad to see the bones leave ... I try not to be selfish but they are just so yummy that I want them all to myself sometimes ... but it's okay because I know she'll bake more!
Anyway, I also wanted to write today to say that since I am such a V.I.P. (Very Important Pooch) at Love of Dog Bakery I now have my very own e-mail address just like my people. I'm still trying to figure out how e-mail really works. I mean, I'm all about checking my pee-mail throughout the neighborhood when I'm out on my daily walks, but e-mail seems a bit more complicated. For example, how does one "sniff" an e-mail? They all smell the same to me - how do you know who it's from? So my people are helping me out with this for now, till I get the hang of it anyway. So feel free to send me a pee-, er, I mean e-mail sometime ... I kinda need the practice. Well, I've gotta go run a Quality Control check on the Chicken & Parmesan bones that my Julie-people baked last night. Duty calls!
10/5/2007: Official Web Launch!
Woof Woof! It sure is Dogtastic to finally be launching our website at Love of Dog Bakery. My Julie-people has been busy baking bones – which means that my job as “Master Taste Tester Extraordinaire” has kicked into high gear. It’s a difficult job you know, but I don’t complain too much. The hardest part is when she bakes and bakes and bakes ALL those bones, and then my Quality-Control check is only like one or two of them. I mean, I’ve gotta be really sure they’re just right. I try to convince her to let me try more of them … just to be sure … but she’s pretty convinced when I lick the carpet for every last little crumb that they are fit for sale. Anyway, I hope you enjoy them. More later!
